Midnight Inspiration is a hybridizer's plant. It is typical of Bob Ellison's plants in that it is shorter, with scapes at 23" tall, and oh those crispy, crunchy, potato chip ruffles! The extraordinary ruffles mean that the flowers do not always open consistently and are of varying form day to day, so I would not classify it as a garden plant. But oh, those ruffles! Any hybridizer looking to immediately kick up the ruffling quotient in their diploid program would do well to use this plant.
